Pay For The Play Station Network? WTF!

PS3 Subscription for Kitty?

Well there are rumours going around that Sony will introduce a premium service on the Play Station Network. The long and short of the rumours is that the subscription will cost you £50 a month and will include a free PSN game (rumoured to be selectable) As well as some other features like the ability to stream music that can run in the background while you play games. (Pretty handy for when your grinding on Final Fantasy XIII) If it's true then I can see myself parting with the cash for a 12 month subscription, heck it could be worth it just for the PSN games. (Unless it ends up like the First Play dregs that we have seen so far)

  1. So that's a pound symbol (£)? 50 pounds a month? Roughly $72 a month (1 British Pound = 1.4473 US Dollars) for a PSN game and online service? That's a bit rough. Even if it was supposed to be the Euro (€) it would be roughly $63 a month (1 Euro = 1.2699 US Dollars).

  2. When you consider that xbox live is £40 with nothing free, then £50 for something with a free game each month and a few other things thrown in then it's not to bad of a deal. It will probably be cheaper in the USA as is the price of games.

  4. I guess I was confused at the amount of time you get with the purchase. If it's £50 a year, with a free game every month, that makes a bit more sense.

It is only roughly $8 for a month for 360 service, therefore £5.52 a month (Assuming prices at the same, they probably are not) ~£6 is MUCH better than £50 for a single month with a game included).

  5. That's a lot of cash. Even with a "free" game a month or whatever. I buy at least one game a month (typically for my 360) already, but I don't want Sony to choose the game.

If they start charging that kind of fee, I'll stick with XBL.
